When we decided to do a coffee stout, we knew with the amount of versions available in the market, we had to do something different to stand out. So we started with Kona coffee, the real deal stuff from Hawaii, and then we put an obnoxious amount into our brew. In order to back the bitterness of the coffee we gave it a stiff malt backing to take off the edge and some oats to give it a creamy mouthfeel. The result is a beer that resembles an iced coffee on a blue pill. If you’re thirsty after 4 hours, drink another.
